The Brontë sisters 

  • Charlotte:
Charlotte was born in 21 april of 1816 in Toronto, United Kingdom, she had four sisters Emily, Anne, Maria and Elizabeth, and one brother Branwell who was the favourite of her father, he was a Irish clergy and writer. 

She was an English novelist and poet, who had inspired in the most of travels that she had done or all the colleges that she had went and the  Blackwood's magazine. 

The most important novels that she had written was always under the pseudonym of Currer Bell, Lord Charles Albert and  Florian Wellesley, and there were Poems, Jane Eyre, Shirley, Villette, the professor witch had written with her two sisters, and finally Emma witch was incompleted. 

Maria and Elizabeth die of tuberculosis, then her brother, Emily and finally she die when she had just married and get pregnant she die 1855, also die of tuberculosis like all her brothers. 

Work She was the eldest of the three Bronte sisters and the fist to publish her novel Jane Eyer, and another book with Anne and Emily. Her single novel was published under the pen name “Currer bell”, and the book talk about the experiences of an eponymous heroine including her love for Mr Rochester and her growing to adulthood. It is a prose fiction focus on the protagonist's moral and spiritual, with elements of social criticism. And it approaches the topics of class, sexuality, religion and feminism.

  • Anne:
Anne Brontë was Born the 17 of January 1820, she was the youngest member of the novelist  and poet family.

After the three sisters Brontë wrote a book of poems the summer of 1845, they decided to began working on their first novels, Anne's once was called Agnes Grey, and it was accepted by Thomas Cautley Newby.

Her second novel is considered to be the first feminist novel in the history, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, it was published in 1848 by the masculine name of Acton Bell

One year after she died of pulmonary tuberculosis, or that is what we suspect nowadays. 

She is not as known as her to sisters, Charlotte and Emily, because the re-publication of her second novel was prevented by his big sister Charlotte, after her death.
  • Emily:
Emily Brontë was a woman with a lot of character and quite severe. 

About her family life, she was the fifth out of six siblings, but she was always one of the "leaders." She spent a lot of time taking care of her brother Branwell, who had failed as a painter and fell into drinks and drugs.

Since she was young, she showed lot of creativity, so much that she even create three countries in her imagination, in which they invented stories.

Finally, she suffered from tuberculosis as a child and  she died when she was 30 years old. 

WORK:  Her works were starring by independent and intelligent women, who lived love stories.

She wrote a novel 'Wuthering Heights' and published a book with her sisters. Her novel is considered a classic of English Literature but had a lot of criticism because was very different from the others. 

She used a male pseudonym: Ellis Bell. 

  • Wuthering heights (Cumbres borrascosas):
It is a dramatic and tragic story.  

It begins with Heathcliff's arrival at the Earnshaw's home, which is brought from Liverpool. This will soon upset the quiet life of his adoptive family as well as his neighbors, the Linton.  

It is a story of love and revenge, hate and madness, life and death. Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff (the adopted child) develop a relationship of mutual dependence throughout their lives, from childhood to beyond death.  

The problem is that Heathcliff does not respect Catherine, and Catherine will end up marrying the son of the Linton, her neighbors. This will give her a home, the Thrush Farm, and stability.
